At M.L. Best Consulting, we believe that meaningful community and health outcomes are built through collaboration, shared vision, and collective action. That belief was powerfully reinforced at the 2025 Black Health Summit, an event that embodied what it truly means to be better together — bringing leaders, clinicians, and advocates together in the service of advancing Black health and equity.
A Day of Community, Purpose, and Impact
The Summit was more than a gathering — it was a celebration of partnership, intentional dialogue, and shared commitment to improving health outcomes within the Black community. From inspiring morning sessions to deeply human stories shared over lunch, the event highlighted the fact that advancing Black health does not happen in isolation.
Improving health outcomes requires collaboration among healthcare providers, community leaders, organizations, and stakeholders across sectors. Every initiative, every conversation, and every partnership ripples outward — strengthening families, supporting community resilience, and shaping healthier futures.
Gratitude for Partners and Leaders
A critical part of the Summit’s success was the partnership between Novant Health and the NAHSE North Carolina Chapter. Their unwavering commitment to health equity demonstrated how strategic alliances can move the needle on access, opportunity, and community well-being.
We were also deeply inspired by the insights shared by leaders and physicians who contributed their expertise throughout the day — including those from clinical, community, and engagement teams whose wisdom helped shape the conversation.
Supporting Community Through Action
In addition to knowledge-building, the Summit included a food drive supporting Care Ring’s food bank, reinforcing the importance of practical, tangible support for community-based needs. Actions like these remind us that equity is about both systems and people — and that addressing basic needs is foundational to overall health.
Looking Forward Together
At M.L. Best Consulting, we are energized by the passion, leadership, and dedication showcased at the Summit. While there remains much work to be done, the momentum and collaboration we witnessed reaffirms our belief that progress is possible when we work in partnership.
Health equity does not belong to any single organization or individual — it belongs to all of us. As we continue our work in executive search, leadership development, and community engagement, we remain committed to supporting efforts that deepen equity, foster meaningful connection, and advance inclusive change.
Let’s continue building a healthier, more equitable future — together.
